WEST COAST BOOT CAMP in La Canada |
04/14/2006 |
|
Upcoming Start Dates
So what is boot camp all about?
West Coast Boot Camp is a 6 week military based work out... but don't let the word "military" scare you off. It's something that anyone can do, whether you're in shape, kind of in shape or way out of shape. It doesn't matter if you're 15 years old or 65 years old. Everyone is able to work at their own pace and no one is judged on their inability to perform certain exercises. We're all equals just having fun and striving on bettering ourselves. Although you will be encouraged to push yourself so you can see how tough you really are!
The Boot Camp classes are set outdoors, usually in a park setting. A typical day of boot camp would involve beginning with a stretch followed by running, stair climbing, sprints, lunges, military push-ups, body sculpting with weights, abdominal work, isometrics and always ending with more stretching. It's not a hugely competitive atmosphere but sometimes competition is encouraged just for fun!
At the beginning of each session an evaluation of your body measurements, body weight, body fat percentage and body mass index will be documented as your starting point. At the end of the session these measurements will be taken again to show you the progress that you've made within the 6 week session.
There will also be a Physical Training Test conducted on each individual's ability to perform certain exercises to give a starting point of your fitness level. This test will include how many push-ups and sit-ups can be performed in 2 minutes, as well as a timed 1-mile run.
Each individual will be given instructions and helpful hints for basic nutritional guidance along with a daily food record to track all daily food intake. *FOOD RECORDS SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO CLASS DAILY FOR REVIEW BY YOUR INSTRUCTOR.
Here's what to bring to Boot Camp Everyday:
• Wear GOOD running shoes - the better your shoes the least likely you will experience problems that can occur from running.

" Investigating hidden mold problems
Investigating hidden mold problems may be difficult and will require caution when the investigation involves disturbing potential sites of mold growth. For example, removal of wallpaper can lead to a massive release of spores if there is mold growing on the underside of the paper. If you believe that you may have a hidden mold problem, consider hiring an experienced professional."
